    A 2020 Survey of over 15,000 congregations in the US listed common characteristics of “congregations that are growing and spiritually vital” and the first on their list was "strong leadership that fits with the participants”. The survey lists “leadership that is innovative and inspiring“ as the first of four keys to “revitalization” of churches’ vitality and engagement.
